The ScoutWalker II Walking Robot is a very capable four motor battery-powered Walking robot with forward/backward/left/right capabilities - all without a microprocessor! This kit interfaces well with the above Kit 7 - SunSeeker Kit head to add light-tracking ability to its tactile sensor system.

The ScoutWalker II Walking Robot Kit uses Mark Tilden's Bicore technology to give it a forward/backward/turn-on-the-spot behavior that is controlled by a pair of tactile sensors. Additionally, these behaviors can also be controlled by custom additional circuitry (even microcontrollers!) built on the included bread-board space in the middle of the robot. Powered by four 'AA' batteries, this robot can perform it's functions for well over two hours of operation. These walkers use modified hobby servos for motivation, and come with a custom circuit board that makes it straightforward to assemble. The legs are heavy-gauge wire to make shaping easy, and are mounted on easy-to-use leg mounting pads.
